Description:

Under general supervision, responsible for preparing food items for patients, cafeteria and catering according to production schedule. Food is to be prepared in accordance with established menus, recipes and sanitary standards. May assume additional responsibilities in absence of Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Culinary arts training helpful.

Two years of experience in food production required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions.

Must have good knowledge of food production and the ability to closely follow recipes and make adjustments if required.

Must be able to anticipate levels of doneness and gauge times accurately.

A high degree of aesthetics in the preparation of food products is necessary. Must have knowledge of equipment, sanitation and quality control procedures. Must have good communication skills in both oral and written English; both are required to give directions and specific work assignments to Food Techs and to prepare production worksheet.
