Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a YMCI Counselor in the Youth Mobile Crisis Interventionprogram at Behavioral Health Network!

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention program with the following:

  • Providing high-quality care coordination services (telephonic and face-to-face) for families receiving Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention (YMCI) services.
  • Acting as the primary "point of contact" for all individuals served who have accessed crisis services, ensuring that individuals are being followed throughout the process of being connected to services and resources within BHN and the community.
  • Facilitating referrals and following up as identified by the youth, parent/caregiver, and/or YMCI team.
  • Maintaining direct service productivity as agreed, while completing all required trainings.
  • Collaborating and coordinating services with state agencies, the school system, primary care, and other service providers on behalf of the child/youth and family and as indicated on the crisis treatment plan.

What are we looking for in a YMCI Counselor?
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related mental health field (Social Work or Psychology) with 1 year of work experience in a related mental health field required.
  • Previous experience providing care coordination services for children/youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).
  • Knowledge of mental illness, the interface between mental health and medical conditions and systems, substance abuse, and care management.
  • Must have familiarity with the internet, word processing, and email systems.
  • Professional demeanor and phone skills in communicating with clients and other professionals.

Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI):

The Mobile Crisis Intervention program provides crisis intervention and stabilization services to children and adolescents in the Westfield area. The MCI program through BHN is the designated Emergency Service Provider for the Southern Pioneer Valley.
