Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic and highly motivated recent graduate for a position as a Yield Enhancement and Product Engineer in our state of the art 300mm wafer fab in Malta, NY. The candidate will drive yield improvement and product performance on advanced technology nodes on GlobalFoundries strategic roadmap.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive yield and product performance for technology nodes at 45nm and below across multiple products and customer applications
  • Investigate root cause of yield and product functionality issues
  • Use data analysis, failure analysis, product and design information, device knowledge, and technology understanding to identify improvement opportunities
  • Learn from test chips and test structures for yield limiter determination and manufacturing variability reduction
  • Work closely with Test, Integration and Process Modules to implement fast and cost-effective improvements
  • Support customer engineering to fully meet external customer requirements
  • Support process module engineering activities to improve cost, cycle time, and manufacturing robustness
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment
  • Working knowledge in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
  • Knowledge of circuit design and test, solid state device physics, submicron FET architectures, and the implications of electrical characteristics and performance on yield and product behavior
  • Affinity for quick learning
Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
  • Internship experience in circuit design, characterization, test, yield enhancement and/or product engineering
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor processing and process integration
