Job Description for Workshop Facilitator

Continuing Professional Studies, Bank Street College of Education

Job Description:

Workshop facilitator needed to support graduate students and others seeking NY State certification. The Facilitator will develop and lead a workshop on:

Mathematics Support for the NYS Teacher Certification Exam (Grades 6 - 12)

In this course, students will engage in the learning of content, that is on the Multi-Subject: Secondary Teachers (Grades 6 - 12) New York State Teacher Certification Exam, in a supportive online environment through direct instruction and small group problem solving.

Start Date: Early August 2024

The schedule is flexible within these time frames and workshops will be held at mutually scheduled times. For example, a workshop for teachers of younger grades is held on Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays, 7:15 PM - 8:45 PM ET.

Compensation

  • $1,200
  • Compensation includes workshop development, implementation, and a meeting to debrief and review feedback with program leadership.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Proficiency in the mathematics content required to teach grades 6 - 12.
  • Experience developing and leading professional development for adults.
  • Experience in a progressive education setting.
  • Experience leading professional development programs online, via Zoom.
  • Knowledge of Canvas Learning Management Systems.
  • Master(s) degree in education or mathematics.
