Basic Job Functions:
The Waste Water Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Vulcraft Texas waste-water treatment system and all related equipment. Daily responsibilities include:
Data entry and maintenance of all electronic records related to the operation.
Waste-water treatment and chemical/hazardous waste handling and Inspections.
Maintaining, repairing, and replacing: pumps, filters, valves, filter press, couplings, bearing/seals and other equipment.
Preventive and predictive maintenance.
Collecting water samples and reviewing laboratory analytics.
This position requires occasional travel to other Nucor locations.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Microsoft Office computer skills
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals in an industrial setting
- Minimum of one year hands-on experience in a waste-water operation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience with waste-water plant operations.
- Associates degree or Certification in waste-water.
- Experience with operation and repair/maintenance of pumps.
