JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Attendant is responsible for all inventory activities at the plant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Drive improvement of warehousing measurements (KPIs), through the refinement of policies, processes and procedures to ensure safety, efficiency and cost controls
  • Coordinate consistent physical inventory and quality controls for all incoming/outgoing material while working to continuously improve store KPI's (inventory accuracy, value, turnover, cycle counts)
  • Maintain security for all stored materials, parts and associated equipment/tools in a clean and orderly manner
  • Work with all departments to maintain efficiency within the operation as well as control inventory and inventory costs
  • Ensure that all purchased materials, equipment and parts flow through store controls, including proper identification as well as checked against purchase orders, supplier documents and invoices (proper inventory records and control systems)
  • Responsible for stocking strategies maintaining automatic reordering system (min/max) for consumable materials and spare parts
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School or Equivalent
  • Professional certifications (APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred
  • 2+ years functional experience in one or more business disciplines required
  • JDE experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Self-starting, detail oriented and adaptable to change
  • Must be able to pass an ATF background check
  • Demonstrated technical/professional knowledge in supply chain concepts
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work
  • Excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to read and write and speak fluently in the English language
  • Must be able to handle varied workloads
  • Ability to reason through difficult problems, resolve said problems and/or relate same to others
  • Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility
  • Must have excellent work ethic and safety record
  • Ability to be on call or work extended hours when required
  • Knowledge of basic cement manufacturing process
  • Ability to participate in and deliver tool box talks
  • Ability to perform job safety risk assessments
  • Ability to ensure good housekeeping
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment including forklift and scissor lift
  • Consistently good attitude and behavior
  • Ability to use cell phone/other mobile devices to communicate
  • Ability to communicate through e-mails
  • Ability to use CMMS
  • Basic knowledge of MS office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lifting (up to 50 pounds) from ground to waist, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity, repetitive motion, standing, sitting (must be able to sit for extended periods of time up to 8 hours), walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, driving, client/customer contact, and squatting to perform the essential functions.
  • Incumbent must be able to pass post-offer physical exam and random drug screens
  • Must be able to work days or nights as required during equipment outages
  • Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must work outside in all weather conditions: heat, cold, dust, and wet a minimum of 8 hrs. per day. Work in high noise level areas while wearing proper PPE. May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc. (See MSDS's)
