Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

The Regional Vice President - Central Region (RVP) will provide the strategic leadership and vision for the multi- state region while directing and overseeing the operational activities and driving growth in the region.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for plant and personnel safety, cost control, efficiencies and internal growth
  • Responsible for financial performance of each operating unit in the region
  • Establish core business goals, operating plans, and budgets
  • Mentor and develop the Management Staff in the region
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with customers, community officials, business leaders and regulatory agencies
  • Support project development with regard to engineering, operations and/or environmental activities
  • Drive the growth initiatives in the region

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 15+ years' progressively responsible experience in the Energy & Utilities industry with specific experience with district energy or utility power infrastructure
  • 10+ years' experience leading and supervising a senior staff in a district energy production facility, central plant, building or large facility as a Plant Manager or General Manager
  • Proven experience in growing a regional business with demonstrated success in managing customer relations including renewal of contracts and establishing new business
  • Preferred: Master's degree in engineering or MBA

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Energy & Utilities and organization theories, principles, practices and techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of the basic laws, ordinances and regulations fundamental to Energy & Utilities operation
  • Ability to analyze a variety of complex administrative problems to make sound recommendations for their solutions
  • P&L responsibility in excess of $100M with thorough knowledge of accounting and financial management
  • Demonstrated strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, including solid understanding of relevant commercial energy issues
  • In-depth knowledge of the economics and technologies associated with the provision of district energy services
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an energy organization, from operational management to senior leadership
