Job Summary:

The Department of Mathematics in the College of Science, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Non-tenure track visiting assistant professor.

Department and College/School Information:The Department of Mathematics has been named the recipient of the 2023 American Mathematical Society Award for Math Programs That Make a Difference, for the NSF-supported program for Math Bridge to Doctorate and is the winner of the 2013 American Mathematical Society Award for Exemplary Program or Achievement in a Mathematics Department. The Department of Mathematics is a major center for mathematics research and education in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and North Texas. It serves more than 10,000 students annually and features nationally recognized faculty with outstanding accomplishments in teaching, research, and service. The department offers a variety of degree programs, including BA, BS, MA, MS, and Ph.D. in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education. It currently offers over 100 sections of lower-division mathematics courses per semester. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching 3 courses per academic year and mentoring graduate students, and conducting scholarly research in one of the two following areas: 1) data science with focus on graph structure learning and deep and graph neural networks towards multi-view learning; 2) stochastic processes with focus on modeling temporal evolution of data via differential equations.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants should have done research and scholarly works in the fields and be proficient in coding. Demonstrated excellence in effective teaching. Successful candidates are expected to work closely with some of the current faculty in the department on the listed topics. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The minimum qualification is an earned Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, or Computer Science.
