About the role

The Vice President overseeing Technical Design, Fabric R&D and Quality builds the vision, long range strategies and inspires an environment of continuous innovation and operational excellence to deliver great product, fit and quality at value consistent with the Old Navy Value Equation.

This role sits on the Old Navy Global Production Leadership Team and has functional accountability for the Technical Design, Fabric R&D and Quality teams as well as responsibility for working closely with the Gap Inc Sourcing teams to optimize all supply chain opportunities against Old Navy product priorities.

What you'll do

  • Through cross-functional partnership and collaboration with Sourcing, Design, Merchant, Inventory Management and Marketing, this Vice President identifies and creates opportunities in the operating model, product creation process and supply chain configuration to deliver Old Navy Product Seasonal Goals and the Product & Experience Long Rang Plans.

  • This leader will champion and build an inclusive and agile culture with simplicity of process and role clarity to connect and coordinate all parts of the supply chain to support teams that respond quickly, intentionally and efficiently.

  • A member of the Production Leadership team, the VP has a critical role in the Production Transformation Initiatives:

    • Digital Product Creation – E2E digitizing of the P2M model

    • Sustainability – Made to Last product quality “Re-Use and Re-Purpose”

    • Fabric Supply Chain – Fiber, yarn and mill engagement

  • The Vice President identifies and develops diverse, results driven teams, fostering an inclusive, engaging culture of cross-functional collaboration and respect.

Who you are

  • Proven experience defining and executive multi-year strategy plans that advance the product creation engine and overall business performance.

  • Brings a depth and range of experience in apparel industry, along with understanding the end to end product and supply chain engine, expertise in fit, tech Design and digitization of prototypes, as well as seasoned understanding of fabric + yarn suppliers and exposure to mill strategies.

  • Anticipates and articulates future apparel trends, and consequences, and responds with competitive and creative business solutions, but establishing a vision for the future that is understood clearly amongst cross functional teams and direct reports.

  • Leads with a customer focus and understanding of how to develop a commercial viable product assortment aligned with the ON Value Equation.

  • Demonstrates experience leading and inspiring teams through large scale operating model transformation. Creates and maintains an inclusive, productive work environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals.

  • Maintains a global perspective; be culturally sensitive and aware (adjust personal style to different cultures); able to influence across multiple functions/areas/geographies.

  • Negotiates skillfully and resolve conflict in tough situations; win concessions without damaging relationships.

  • Compelling communicator; Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • 15 + years’ leadership experience in retail apparel production roles of increasing scope, complexity and responsibility. Sourcing experience highly desired. Apparel and/or textile manufacturing a plus.

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related graduate experience preferred.

  • Ability to travel internationally 25%.
