Job Description

Virtual Design, Development & Validation - Modeling Role: You will be responsible for the development and validation of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for full vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for all subsystems of a full vehicle, With a focus on Morphing Body/Exteriors/Interiors.
  • Preform full Virtual Vehicle assembly and integration
  • Work with engineers to validate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models.
  • Assist with the development and documentation of model content based on Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) customer needs and team needs.
  • Support the design, structural development, and vehicle performance teams by applying root-cause analysis for issues identified during the model development.
  • Track on-going CAE Studies, provide communication between program and CAE teams.
  • Estimate project timelines and manage internal customer expectations.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of CAE/ product development/ testing/ validation or design release experience.
  • Experienced with software tools: ANSA, HYPERMESH, LS-DYNA, Optistruct/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, Siemens NX, Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) theory and application.
  • Demonstrated skills in disciplined problem solving and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years experience with CAE solvers and pre- and post-processors such as: ANSA, Primer, Animator, LS-Dyna, Nastran, Optistruct/ Radioss, Abaqus, HyperWorks (HyperMesh/ HyperView), DEP Meshworks.
  • Proficient with CAE Tools for Morphing including (ANSA, Meshworks, HM).
  • Strong CAD (NX) skills.
  • DFSS black belt or similar certification.
  • Knowledge of, and experience using principles of robust design and uncertainty analysis.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or other engineering or Physics required.
