User Experience Researcher (location flexible)

Our Human Experience Center of Excellence (HX CoE) blends observation, conversation, and innovation into unique approaches that help our clients build human-centric relationships that inspire loyalty and drive growth. We provide eye-opening insights, action-oriented recommendations, and inspired ideas through the use of leading-edge, inductive methods. Our clients turn to us for strategic and tactical guidance on how to navigate through an ever-evolving landscape and future. Internally, our HX CoE serves as a source of thought leadership, product innovation, training, and best practices.

To fully serve our external and internal clients, we have created a User Experience Research practice within the HX CoE, and are seeking to add a seasoned User Experience Researcher to join our team.

Who are you?

  • You're an experienced UX Researcher who enjoys using their curiosity about people and drivers of their behavior to help clients create experiences that are both satisfying and promote desired outcomes.
  • You have an analytical mind and can sift through the complexities of human behavior, while thinking outside the research to discover the meaning underlying people's actions.
  • You're comfortable working across multiple industries, proficient in understanding various audiences and how they engage with products, services, interfaces, and experiences.
  • You're capable of leading end-to-end UXR projects and advising clients as appropriate.
  • You're adept at identifying and applying the right methodology - surveys, focus groups and interviews, interface assessment, and field studies - in the right situations.
  • You're experimental and open to exploring new tools and approaches to address our client's objectives.
  • You're able to synthesize findings, develop a story, visualize insights, and present results in a compelling way.
  • You're ready to assume a leadership role in guiding a UXR practice that opens doors to new opportunities and elevates client relationships.

What would you do?

A good portion of our UXR work involves engaging with clients in the technology and insurer spaces. However, you may have the opportunity to work in other industries as well, including Automotive, Financial Services, Consumer & Retail, and Energy.

A few other key points...

We all deeply enjoy the incredible colleagues that we get to work with on a daily basis. That's paramount for every one of us, so we focus very strongly on hiring people that will fit in well with our culture. While we are looking for somebody with a strong individual skills and experience, your ability to collaborate is going to be a big deciding factor.

We are a geographically dispersed organization with technical proficiency, so we are very flexible regarding your location, and comfortable with you working remotely.

If you like what you've heard so far, we'd like to hear from you!

Here are the responsibilities & qualifications we're seeking in case you wish to have more detail.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the organization's primary UXR advocate, assisting the HX CoE Head in creating and communicating a strategic vision for the practice that inspires and motivates.
  • Collaborate with the HX CoE's Behavioral Science practice to develop behavior-based guidelines and heuristics to direct our UXR work.
  • Partner with our client management teams to create proposals and business-development-oriented content.
  • Quickly establish rapport with clients and research participants.
  • Assume the lead in advising our clients on stimulus to be evaluated, and in creating project screeners, guides, and use cases.
  • Execute the research across multiple modes and technologies, such as one-on-ones, dyads/triads, focus groups, within virtual and in-person settings.
  • Quickly analyze responses and create concise, meaningful deliverables that provide the guidance and recommendations our clients need.
  • Independently learn new technology and approaches, and confidently converse in UXR vernacular.
  • Contribute to Escalent thought leadership, point-of-view pieces and our award-winning blog (escalent.co/thinking/blog)
