Supporting Best of Breed Database solutions is a vital success at the scale of Walmart. Our team support, maintain and manage SQL and NoSQL database technologies and develops automation in areas of database onboarding, maintenance and support. We support mission critical business applications which needs a Strong database skillset and problem solving skills.

About Team:

Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.

What you'll do:

• Administration of SQL and NoSQL databases in both private and public Clouds.
  
• Develop automation for Operational Optimization using Java, Ansible and Python
  
• Effective troubleshooting of application and production issues on databases along with Debugging Application Java code base.
  
• Root-cause analysis of complex problems involving multiple parties, networks, hardware, and software that relate to scaling and performance.
  
• Collaborate with public cloud database service providers and deliver efficient and effective database solutions to business critical applications.
  
• Own the problems and deliver solutions for complex problems.
  

What you'll bring:

• 8+ years of software development experience in backend systems and services involving database accesses (SQL and NoSQL) in distributed environment.
  
• Extensive hands-on with relational databases (like Oracle, Spanner) and data modeling, distributed NoSQL Databases (CosmosDB etc.)
  
• Experience on Java Programming, debugging Java code, Ansible and Python based development.
  
• Great understanding/knowledge in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
  
• Designs, scopes, and builds large projects with large teams.
  
• Database Tuning and Optimization
  
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban)
  
• Strong understanding of continuous integration and delivery (Jenkins, GitOps, etc)
  
• Strong understanding of large-scale data platforms
  
• Design and documentation skills

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

- Stock equity incentives
