Job Description
Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Global, Ltd. has multiple opportunities to join our Property Underwriting team due to our exciting growth. We are seeking AVPs, Senior Underwriters and Underwriters to be a part of our Middle Market Property, Retail Property, Wholesale Property and Builder's Risk teams. The opportunities may be domiciled in multiple U.S. offices.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development a profitable book of business within the designated underwriting territory for Everest. The selected candidate will assist in implementation of a plan for growth in the region while creating brand awareness for Everest. This plan will include goals and objectives for the team as well as for the region.
- Building and underwriting a diverse and profitable book of business
- Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with appointed brokers
- Developing, implementing and controlling pricing and a risk selection standard that supports strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals
- Effectively working with Actuarial, Claims, Loss Control, Operations, Finance, and Information Technology
- Mentor and coach underwriters both technically and professionally
- Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years Commercial Property underwriting experience.
- Experience in single carrier property market
- Be self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
- Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a departmentally related field.
- The ability to travel up to 25%
