The Unit Coordinator performs clerical and administrative duties in support of patient care providers, medical staff, patients, their significant others, blended and extended family members, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly answers phones, relaying messages as appropriate
  • Collaborates effectively with the unit charge nurse and/or care manager to identify bed needs and/or unit needs
  • Transcribes orders in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with policies.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, organized and able to prioritize work
  • Ability to successfully complete the Mount Carmel Unit Coordinator Training Program
