Job Description

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. is seeking full-time Traffic Engineer for our growing New England Region. This position provides the flexibility to be involved in both public and private development projects with the eventual goal of focusing on one of these areas depending on the candidate's preference. The immediate role will range from oversight and quality review of Functional Design Reports to Traffic Impact and Access Studies for 100+ acre private development projects and anything in between.

Responsibilities:

  • Thorough understanding of current traffic engineering standards and practices
  • Working knowledge of drafting, traffic analysis, and simulation programs (Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, AUTOCAD, and Microsoft Office) is required. Knowledge of VISSIM and MicroStation is a plus
  • Good writing skills with the ability to prepare reports and memorandums is a plus
  • Interest and experience in working on Boston complete streets projects is a plus
  • Experience with urban design and current design practices for multi-modal accommodation is a plus
Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus in Traffic/Transportation preferred
  • 10+ years of traffic engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be considered
  • PE required (MA, NH and/or ME preferred) and PTOE preferred
  • Familiarity with New England State Agencies (MassDOT, MEPA, NHDOT, etc.) is required

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and direction given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles, and/or masks while working
