ECS is seeking a Test Engineer to work in our Annapolis, MD office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:
This position will be part of a testing team responsible for testing and verifying enhancements and upgrades to the End-to-End Supportability System (E2ESS) software program. E2ESS is a single, web-based, integrated tool, which combines several sub-applications to perform all the functions related to Spectrum Certification. The individual will be responsible for all quality assurance (QA) aspects of the project software release as it relates to verification, validation, and testing of the E2ESS software program. The Test Engineer must be experienced in writing Selenium automated test scripts. The Test Engineer will review software test cases, participate in software design reviews, and develop test plans and procedures for all phases of testing from integration to full system test.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop test strategies/methodologies, test cases, and procedures based upon approved requirements and designs for both integration and verification/validation testing
  • Capture and reports testing metrics (for example: defect failure rate) to the Program Manager/Test Lead during execution of test cases/scripts.
  • Create, implement, maintain and ensure compliance to test policies, methodologies, standards and best practices.
  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases using test plans and functional specifications.
  • Participate in all phases of testing - Integration/System Testing, Functional Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing, User Acceptance Testing, etc.
  • Participate in the planning of all testing activities accordingly to ensure on time deliverables are met.
  • Perform both new functionality and regression tests and identifies, analyzes and reports issues using standard defect tracking tools.
  • Specify and coordinate the creation and maintenance of relevant test environments and infrastructure.
  • Support Systems Integration Testing (SIT), System Acceptance Testing (SAT), interoperability testing, operational testing, ad-hoc testing and deployment.
  • Participate in readiness exercises
  • Support the planning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of test environments
  • Support security, logistics, and other services that may be needed
  • Support pre-test readiness reviews and post-test assessment reviews
  • Support the altering of physical facilities as required for the testing event
  • Provide test plans, scripts, data, databases, and analyses supporting test and deployment activities
  • Provide technical assistance

Required Skills:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active DoD SECRET clearance.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years QA/Testing Experience
  • Experience in translating software requirements and functional descriptions into test plans, defining specific test cases for the test plans, creating testing scenarios for the test cases, executing test cases according to scenarios, and tracking test case results and metrics to closure.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects with deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform in a remote environment w/ very little in-person contact
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles, test methodologies, test case identification/development, test execution.
  • Ability to perform results analysis and reporting
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast environment
  • Experience using Selenium automated test tools
  • Ability to coordinate, direct, and lead user-acceptance testing
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues or breakdowns in processes
  • Consultant-oriented skills including excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management Tools and proficient with Microsoft Office products

Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with leading teams of testers is desired, but not required
  • Experience with Ranorex Studio, Ranorex Webtest automated test tools
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance testing tools such as Freedom Scientifics JAWS®
