Temporary Faculty Position in PrintmakingDept. of Art & Design

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The university is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Art & Design invites applications for a full-time, temporary faculty position in Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025 in Printmaking. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: Master's degree in art or a related area; strong professional portfolio of personal and student artwork; teaching experience of at least one year or equivalent in Printmaking. Must demonstrate ability to teach intaglio, relief, collograph, monoprint, lithography (stone, plate, and photo), screenprinting (photo-based and hand-created stencils) and manage the printmaking studio. Must also demonstrate ability to operate a laser cutter, 3D printer, and the Adobe suite of programs. Successful interview and demonstration of relevant abilities required. The candidate will teach Intro- and Studio-level Printmaking courses as well as foundation design and/or drawing. Courses are taught face-to-face. If course format were to change to hybrid or online, faculty will be required to successfully complete the Teaching Online Certification Course offered through Kutztown University.
