Job Responsibilities: Aerial Lineman-Telecom

The Aerial Lineman-Telecom will be responsible for installing new, repairing or maintaining existing messenger strand and hardware. Position will require travel throughout New York State and will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

This position will be required to perform the following functions:

• Perform delash and relash of fiber, wreck out and pole placement transfers and aerial to underground conversion
• Ability to utilize bucket truck, crawl spaces, ladders, ceilings, tunnels and trenches to access various installation and construction points as necessary
• Pull coax through existing duct package, pull cable through conduit and slice and activate underground and aerial lines
• Close projects by completing daily production sheets, verify proper levels after activation and adjust and troubleshoot as necessary

Job Qualifications:
Skills and Experience

Required

• A minimum of 3-5 years' related experience
• Proficient in new build, fiber installations and pole transfers
• Knowledge in building strand, lashing, pole transfers, groundings as well as building and repairing aerial telecommunication lines
• Possess a valid Driver's License and have a clean driving record
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs repeatedly
• Must be able to work in bucket trucks, climb ladders
• Moderate travel required, some overnight, out of town work possible
• Ability to work in all seasonal weather elements

Preferred

• Previous experience safely operating a boom truck
