We are looking for a Technical Writer to create documentation that helps users succeed with our sophisticated products.

You will be part of the Documentation team in the Learning Services department. Learning Services produces documentation, online learning content, and classroom training for a wide variety of audiences. We foster a friendly, collaborative, and professional environment that emphasizes personal responsibility for meeting goals.

Our mission is to enable people to learn what they need to do their jobs - and we need your help. You will join a talented group of writers, and work with members of many different functional groups.

You will document complex applications and APIs for developers, system administrators, and others. Our high-performance technology includes:

  • Support for many languages and many forms of interoperability
  • A data platform with features for load distribution and data resiliency
  • Healthcare products that support every major data standard and that serve a wide array of clinician needs
  • Other key features such as analytics and security


Responsibilities

  • Creating, updating, and improving documentation.
  • Becoming knowledgeable in InterSystems products, and developing expertise in a subject area.
  • Using a wide variety of approaches to learn each subject area, including interviews, reviewing specs, creating test programs, and reading source code.
  • Working with the online learning and classroom training groups to develop shared content, provide a clear and consistent message, and provide topic expertise as needed.
  • Helping improve quality, processes, and productivity.

Qualifications
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with a variety of computer systems and software
  • A good grasp of relevant technical concepts

While it's not required, we also value experience in areas that will help you get started more quickly with our products. These include emerging and existing database technologies (from brand-new tools to SQL); delivering cloud-based solutions; popular programming languages (such as Java); machine learning; healthcare standards (such as FHIR); and our products.

Education & Training

Required: A university degree or equivalent experience.

Helpful, but not required: Experience in related areas, such as training, development, testing, or creating programming examples.
