Novelis is looking for a Lead Technical Service Representative- Cans.

This position has the primary responsibilities of providing leadership and direction to Novelis by functioning as the Voice of the Customer to Novelis Can Value Stream and the Voice of Novelis Business to our customers, problem solving with Novelis production facilities and customers, and the primary customer market is in can body stock and can end stock.

Responsibilities

  • To maintain customer satisfaction in a tightening market to ensure Novelis market-share and pricing is maintained
  • Establishing cooperative relationships with customers and Novelis production facilities.
  • Visiting defined customer locations to provide technical service on a routine basis, during product trials, and to support issue investigation.
  • Functioning as the single point of accountability for all complaints from assigned customer locations.
  • Supporting metrics for customer satisfaction feedback.
  • To handle internal trials, process changes, and process simplification with our customer base as representation of the Business/cost pressures continue to be a focus point
  • Serving as Novelis point of communication for customer issues to Novelis corporate, Novelis production facilities, Novelis technical facilities (NGRTC), and our customers.
  • Provide technical direction for product improvement.
  • To continue the development of the Technical Services team which has 50% new membership over the past four years by encouraging knowledge sharing opportunities with the more experienced team members
  • Analyzing material properties, customer returns, and samples for investigation into customer issues.
  • Being accountable for coordinating detailed root cause analysis and corrective action reports to relay on customer issues based upon Novelis corporate or production facility follow-up.
  • Taking accountability for Novelis material trials at designated customer locations.
  • Complying with EHS guidelines while performing Novelis business at customer locations, while traveling, or at Novelis production facilities.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business, or other analytical field, and / or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer five to ten years of experience in a large complex manufacturing environment, preferably aluminum, casting, rolling and / or recycling.
  • Can and lid manufacturing knowledge/background
  • Working understanding and practical application with aluminum alloys preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing process and business policy and practices preferred
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a dedicated relationship with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Consistent track record of success and expanded responsibility within a growing and complex organization
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Matrix organization experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to handle multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
  • SAP Experience
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to perform work accurately and independently
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills: mastery of Structured Corrective Action Process: 8D
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriately to peers, operators and senior managers. A willingness to take a leadership role within work team
