CALSTART has an immediate opening for a highly motivated person to join our team as a Technical Project Manager II, Validation and Assessment. This Technical Project Manager II role will serve as a Liaison for Clean Fuels and Infrastructure Initiative within the Validation and Assessment team, building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships, facilitating communications and coordinating activities.

Additionally, the Technical Project Manager II will:

  • Be the lead point contact for validation and assessment activities for clean fuels and infrastructure programs such as EnergIIZE, Communities in Charge, RHETTA, and engineering.
  • Serve as technical interface with validation and assessment team's expertise on clean fuels and infrastructure activities for continuous relationship improvement.
  • Manage knowledge sharing between initiative, validation and assessment staff, and stakeholders.
  • Collect, analyze, and manage data analysis through the establish data processes.
  • Manage and support Validation and Assessment project managers in project reporting, budgeting, proposal writing, reporting timelines, coordinating/engaging with external stakeholders and other widespread support when needed.
  • Provide support for specific technical tasks (database creation, analysis, and visualization) for knowledge product development and publications (final reports, case studies and other technical assistance resources).
  • Actively communicate with internal and external partners, making sure expectations are established and deadlines set and followed to manage project timelines, budgets, and associated deliverable.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Technical Communication and other related fields or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of direct project management experience
  • 1+ years of clean transportation or environmental industry experience
  • Experience managing project partner relations and oversight of roles and responsibilities
  • General data competency and experience managing, analyzing, and visualizing data
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and written skills
  • Strong technical and analytical communication skills with the ability to translate highly technical vernacular for a high variety of audiences with different levels of exposure to technical work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
  • Project management certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • 3+ years of clean fuels or infrastructure experience
  • Experience working with industry analysis modeling tools such as R Studio / Tableau
  • Experience working with simulation tools such as Python/SQL
  • Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Technical Communication, related field, or relevant experience
  • Ability to work or have significant overlap in the Pacific Time Zone
