Job Purpose

Provides professional delivery of expert technical support and high expert level of training to internal and external customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Delivers professional training to technical field force on the use and application of company products and equipment
  • Delivers professional training to the key existing and potential customers on the use and application of the company products and equipment. Document activity conducted onsite at the customer's location and within the training center
  • Conducts product testing and evaluation. Works with the project teams in preparing for new product launches
  • Orders the assigned technical company equipment, advising what should be available to the technical field force and maintains the equipment in a safe and proper manner
  • Manages demonstrations of paint / non-paint application techniques to customers and prospects
  • Performs technical scans and audits at designated customers. Assist with process optimization and operational excellence at the customer's location. Proactively informs customers about developmental opportunities.
  • Assists Sales departments in the implementation of sales strategies and within the key phases of the sales process, giving technical expert knowledge to their prospects.
  • Provides expert knowledge to the technical and sales departments in handling complex technical issues adding efficiencies and educating customers on solutions
  • Provides recommendations to upper management regarding the use of the relevant training center to include training types and participants
  • Synchronizes activities with Sales departments using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and updates the key customers' databases with valid, accurate and complete information

Key Accountabilities Continued

  • Becomes familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) standards and acts in compliance with all their regulations.
  • Collects, communicates, and provides updates on technical documentation, training materials, etc. for use by local field force
  • Collects and reports on the customer feedback relating to products and processes with market intelligence
  • Delivers periodical progress reports and proactively submits information regarding trends within the market, providing recommendations regarding improvements in the approach to the marketplace
  • Informs technical and sales departments on information gathered regarding changes in legislation
  • Promotes the positive company image and develops long-term relationships with the customers

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field preferred. Relative experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in coatings applications, technical sales and support. Must possess training and facilitation skills in an industrial environment
  • Possess an aptitude for problem solving and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 75%. Some overnight travel will be required

  • Compensation: This position will receive an annual base salary and is eligible for an annual 15% bonus.
