As a Team Lead - Assembly you will provide leadership to the assembly production work area and facilitate continuous improvement to reach PQVC goals by leading teams to safely assemble a quality product according to company policies/procedures on a timely basis.

**THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION: HOURS 02:00PM - 10:00PM CST**

A successful candidate will bring (basic qualifications):
  • 2 years' experience in mechanic or assembly field or certified trade school/technical degree in a mechanical or manufacturing field
  • Ability to read blueprints/engineering drawing
Top candidates will have (desired qualifications):
  • Heavy assembly experience
  • Hydraulic systems experience
  • Heavy crane equipment experience
  • Ability to read standard work, prints, and write continuous improvement cards
  • Ability to utilize computer for production transactions, metric tracking, and communications
  • Experience using mechanical tools including torque tools
  • Ability to work with metric units, hydraulics and electrical components
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to provide leadership and instruction to employees in a fast-paced production environment
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong understanding of lean principles, quality systems and production processes.

Shift: Second Shift; Hours: 02:00PM - 10:00PM CST

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN

Compensation: Grade L06

What You Can Expect:
  • You will be responsible for putting safety first with a goal to prevent all injuries, occupational illnesses and safety incidents
  • Leads provide coverage for team members absences and/or production fluctuation to produce products according to Engineering/Manufacturing documentation utilizing assembly/mechanical tools, torque tools, metric units, hydraulics and electrical components
  • Lead daily production (PQVC), which may include updating daily & weekly metric white boards, providing input on schedule adjustments, adjusting manpower within value stream teams, and participating in daily production dialogs with team and management.
  • Coordinate and prioritize work to meet production schedules
  • Electronically and manually maintain documentation for labor hour records, process work order and production documentation
  • Work with support functions to identify and resolve issues related to safety, quality, process and delivery checks, as well as issues related to equipment, fixture, tool, process, quality, delivery and product/layout changes to ensure daily production schedules are met.
  • Take initiative to identify, document, communicate and correct problems related to assembly, report discrepancies and recommend solutions
  • Coordinate continuous improvement to maintain and emphasize standard work by identifying, driving, and sustaining improvements.
  • Train and develop employees on job skills, problem solving and cross training. Provide recognition to employee contributions.
  • Support team People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) initiatives and daily activities.
  • Work and interact effectively in a team environment in alignment with our Code of Conduct and Values in Action.
  • Work with limited supervision
  • May provide input to employee reviews.
  • Participate on special projects as needed.
