Job Overview

We are looking for a tax accounting and compliance manager to manage and facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of our company's federal and state income tax returns and to assist with the preparation of our tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures. The ideal candidate is a team player who will manage the team to greater performance, identify and implement tax strategies and work with the accounting team to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk. The Tax Manager will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulations and make the appropriate recommendations for updates to policies and strategies. The ideal candidate is highly focused in their pursuit of ensuring compliance and achieves this goal through optimizing reporting procedures and driving the successful function of the tax team.

Responsibilities for Tax Manager

  • Preparation/review of consolidated corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns, estimates and extensions.
  • Ensure all reporting and filing obligations are completed accurately and filed timely, including developing an overall compliance calendar and coordinating of timing with the team.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Company's global quarterly and annual income tax provision and related financial statement footnotes and disclosures.
  • Assist with tax provision process improvements, including the design/implementation of tax provision and reporting software.
  • Assist with the identification and implementation of appropriate tax planning strategies.
  • Manage and facilitate federal and state income tax audits and inquiries as needed.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team.
Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant required
  • 5+ years of corporate tax experience in a corporate or public accounting role and at least 2 years of experience in a management role.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
  • Familiarity with international tax concepts preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax provision a plus.
