Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Target Manufacturer I is responsible for producing and fabricating ceramic and metallic sputtering targets and parts in accordance with route cards using induction hot press furnaces with limited knowledge of cold press and sinter and pellet press operations.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Review production requirements and select dies, materials and ingredients needed based on route card instructions and/or procedures.
  • Measure, weigh and/or blend materials as required.
  • Prepare and load dies, load furnace, set temperature, pressures and times, etc. as required.
  • Monitor equipment during process. Make appropriate adjustment to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as change or clean filters and fittings, change thermocouples, etc.
  • Perform regularly scheduled calibration for temperature, weight and pressure on equipment gauges.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary records and reports, label product and route product properly to the next operation.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year industrial experience, preferably in a related industry (Chemical, Food, etc.)
  • Previous experience operating tools such as induction furnaces, vacuum kettles, ball and hammer mills, roll and jaw crushers, gas cylinders, pH meters is preferred
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds at shoulder height
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to low concentrations of fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, acid, and bases. The employee occasionally works with reactive material and may be exposed to low-level radioactive materials and extreme heat. All such exposures are customarily within limits established by federal and state regulatory bodies.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
