As the System Director, you will support strategic and organizational change through leadership and employee development plans & initiatives. This role will also support the design, development and implementation of programs related to leadership development and coaching, employee training, career development and progression, retention and succession planning. This role will also ensure the programs support D&I and retention initiatives, have measures of success that are relevant to the organization and employees. The System Director will supervise the Manager of Instructional Technology & Online Learning and will report into the SVP HR & Chief Human Engagement Officer.

This role is ideal for someone who is an experienced OD professional that has proven experience developing curriculum, creating content relevant to the needs of the organization. This role will also implement leadership and employee development programs, and success plans that support D&I and change management initiatives.

Responsibilities

The System Director, Organizational Development is a critical leadership role within HR and the System. The System Director collaborates closely with HR Leadership, their team and System Leadership to drive the strategic direction and day-to-day service delivery of the Organizational Development function. The System Director oversees organizational development, leadership development, employee training, learning & development, career development, retention and succession planning.

More specifically:

  • Develops curriculum and training programs that support the needs of the organization and promotes procedures and policies that are inclusive, reflect the mission, vision and values of the organization, supports employee engagement, retention and positive employee & labor relations and DEI efforts.
  • Partners with HR and Leadership to develop and implement succession plans, leadership development and employee training and career development programs.
  • Regularly shares data and insights with key stakeholders related to succession planning, learning and development, and outcomes of implemented leadership and employee development programs.

Qualifications

  • Strong and recent experience leading the Organizational Development functions for a large organization as well as managing direct and indirect reports.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing leadership and employee development programs.
  • Experience developing curriculum and training programs that support the needs of the organization, promotes inclusivity, reflects the mission, vision and values of the organization and supports employee engagement, retention, DEIB, and positive employee & labor relations.
  • Possesses applicable knowledge of today's current talent landscape, effective & creative learning and development strategy to positively impact retention and succession planning.
  • Active and demonstrated experience supporting DEIB efforts within an organization.
  • Possesses exceptional influencing skills to establish credibility and trust with internal customers and build influential relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering feedback from, and on employees, utilizing the data to drive and or revise programs, policies, leadership training & development, employee training.
  • Ability to use data to communicate internal and external insights, trends, outcomes, and progress to key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to understand various perspectives and translate business needs into strategic organizational development strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning models.
  • Must have excellent project management, presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Powerpoint; Change Management and Learning Development Systems; Adobe Platforms; Articulate 360; Trello; Visio or similar systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Organization Development, Adult Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience in lieu of either is also acceptable.
