Position Overview

The Supply Chain S&OP Lead - Metal Inputs will be responsible for the strategic planning of all inputs for our remelt centers and ingot supply for Hot Mill production in support of the Can, Auto, and Specialty value streams. The management of metal inputs includes system wide generation of "Run-around" scrap, and third party purchases of scrap and sheet ingot. Additionally, the role will also lead and execute the ongoing development and implementation of reporting and analysis, tracking and reporting on Key Performance Indicators, lead project teams to improve strategic planning, actively manage inventory positions, metal flow, forecasting/planning, and provide and drive system support and development through project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Clearly understand the metal flow, input consumption capabilities, system constraints, input strategy, EBITDA and cash flow objectives set forth in the strategic plan
  • Communicate strategic direction to remelt planning personnel and metal buyers as to the metal mix required to meet strategic objectives
  • Own the S&OP Plan, Forecasting and Annual & Strategic Planning process for metal inputs
  • Lead and support the ongoing delivery and development of the Sales and Operating Plan and Annual Budget Process
  • Lead and drive the S&OP process for Metal Inputs.
  • Provide data and management information and analysis on behalf of all Value Streams
  • Represent Supply Chain relative to the management of 3rd party sheet ingot supply and delivery performance. Participate in joint supplier improvement teams
  • Adjust metal input buffers in order to meet inventory objectives and continuity of sheet ingot supply
  • Active management and leadership of input buy signals, run around scrap generation and consumption, third party sheet ingot positions and purchases, and overall input inventory positions
  • Develop tools that can be used to quickly and accurately assess supply, capacity and inventory issues and opportunities. Use these tools to improve financial performance
  • Develop business process and sustainable IT systems (SAP and Legacy) to continuously improve business performance relative to metal inputs, sheet ingot and inventory
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or similar subject area with exposure to supply chain management through experience and/or course work
  • Achieve Certified Production and Inventory Manager (CPIM) within 3 years (required)
  • Over 5 years related experience in multinational manufacturing company, similar industry is preferred
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with customers (internal & external) through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of planning optimization models and tools required, preferably Quintiq Macro Planner.
  • SAP experience, in particular APO is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills: ability to extract data and draw conclusions and recommendations
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to connect with all levels in the organization
  • Must possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate
