Status: Part-time Professional

Annual Salary Range (Hourly Rate Equivalent): $52.10 - $83.33

*Salary commensurate with education and experience. Annual salary based on part-time hours worked.

Job Summary

As a Supplier Production Management Engineer at BPMI, you will work part-time (minimum of 24 hours worked per week required) and provide on-site supplier support. Evaluate supplier performance and assist leadership in identifying and implementing improvements to address root causes. Ensure that engineering design changes efficiently transfer to first time production. Monitor supplier production and engineering systems and recommend improvements as appropriate. Evaluate manufacturing progress in support of schedule and delivery performance.

Essential Duties:

  • Evaluate overall supplier capacity to reliably deliver products that meet quality, schedule, and cost expectations. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements to BPMI and supplier management.
  • Assess and provide feedback on supplier engineering efforts, specifically investments to support digital transformation, workforce development initiatives and opportunities to improve overall system implementation.
  • Measure engineering and manufacturing progress against contract milestones and schedules, assess reasons for delays, and work with the supplier and BPMI personnel to recover to the established schedules.
  • Assess the effectiveness of supplier improvement initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed to address root causes.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals representing a wide range of corporate levels, from shop personnel to senior management at multiple organizations.
  • Travel to supplier facilities, particularly a circuit breaker supplier in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Ability to work safely in a shop environment.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program with I&C System level knowledge.
  • Experience with leadership and management oversight and demonstrated performance on large projects.
  • Willingness to work onsite at an I&C suppliers' facility at least 50% of the time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
