Provides leadership and front-line supervision of development team to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of ETL products, and production support services to internal and external customers. Works closely with business stakeholders to define business needs and directs technical teams in the design and implementation of business features/capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, assigns and oversees the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the analysis, design, development, testing and implementation functions required to modify/create ETL applications.
  • Works closely with business stakeholders to continuously evaluate project risks, constraints, and change management activities.
  • Along with the Business Analyst, gather requirements (functional and nonfunctional) from customer.
  • Analyze requirements for feasibility and work efforts/project sizing.
  • Provide input for project prioritization.
  • Participate in client calls and seek clarifications, if any.
  • Provides guidance in the development of project documentation, inclusive of functional/technical requirements, test plans and implementation plans.
  • Enforces development standards are followed, defined templates are used, and oversee code and design reviews
  • Participate in ETL and data modeling design planning sessions.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and assign work to meet deadlines
  • Motivates staff, communicates clear expectations, holds staff accountable to deadlines
  • Evaluates staff performance.
  • Provides coaching and constructive feedback and recognition when appropriate.
  • Engages in career development discussions and recommends appropriate training needs to management.
  • Recognizes opportunities to improve process efficiencies and implements them.
  • Reviews and analyzes existing and proposed system business processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of those programs.
  • Ensures employees adhere to departmental (both existing and emerging) SDLC policies and procedures. Ensures satisfactory audit evidence is provided to auditors in a timely manner
  • Provide inputs during creation of operational concepts and scenarios
  • Provide input in designing end to end solution from a technical perspective
  • Conduct root cause analysis to avoid repetition of defects.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.


Requirements:
  • Seasoned experience in ETL tools, frameworks and best practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects involving cross-functional product teams.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills required to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholder groups.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to communicate technical terms in business language and communicate across levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of and experience using all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Inquisitive in nature with a desire to gain a full understanding of business and technology operations as they relate to technology-related outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing software delivery for internal and external (outside of IS) clients.
  • Ability to handle multiple planned and unplanned efforts, roles and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in conflict resolution, negotiation, and presentation.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and mentoring.
  • First-hand development in dimensional modeling, data warehousing.
  • Commercial and/or Workers' Compensation Insurance knowledge.
  • ITIL training and/or experience a plus.
  • Experience with Project Management related tools such as Jira, MS-Project.
  • Post-secondary education in technical field, preferably computer science.
  • Minimum 8 yrs ETL development/production support experience.
  • Minimum 5 yrs experience managing an ETL development/production support team
