NASCAR is looking to hire aSupervising Producer, Industry Services. This person will be responsible for developing high quality programming and content, producing sponsor supported short and long form content, and managing special projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conceive, create, and develop ideas for industry and branded content for all media platforms and channels.

  • Manage, write, and lead the creation of treatments, creative briefs, proposals, scripts, presentations, etc. for projects.

  • Manage and refine internally generated show concepts, assembling teams, elements, and materials to give dimension or demonstrate the viability of the underlying idea.

  • Assist in the development of production budgets and expenditures for proposed content. Help determine, allocate, and monitor technical and financial resources necessary to complete projects within budgetary parameters.

  • Direct, and lead a team of producers on select projects in the production of commercials, branded content and/or series, including on location shoots, and being involved in the day-to-day editing.

  • Serve as supervising producer on other projects in the production of commercials, branded content and/or series, providing notes/feedback and playing a key part in crafting the overarching creative vision.

  • Manage and mentor producers, providing creative leadership, guidance, and support.

  • Collaborate with Business and Sales Development, Production Management, Content Committee, Marketing and Branding, Graphics, Digital, Social, and other departments to maximize program strategy and revenue potential.

  • Play a vital role in shaping how Productions tells stories across a wide spectrum of platforms and lead the development of new and innovative content experiences.

Percent of travel: 12% travel, including weekends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in creating high quality television programming as a producer, writer or development/programming executive and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of company provided hardware and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Avid editing knowledge and experience, and a general knowledge of camera and audio equipment required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience in a wide variety of program genres (e.g. unscripted, documentary, reality, highlights/news, informational, branded entertainment, etc.)

  • Strong creative writing skills.

  • Ability to multitask numerous projects and work with team members.

  • Must be well organized and be flexible to shifting priorities.

  • Ability to carry out duties with little direct supervision.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent people skills.

  • Great collaborator and team player.

  • A trend-spotter who understands popular culture and the global media landscape.

  • Flexible working hours required to accommodate deadlines.
