Subrogation Specialist

***Will be filled at the appropriate level based on skills and experience***

Are you looking to grow your career at a place that cares about its employees and invests in you through continued training and education? Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking a Subrogation Specialist who is self-motivated and loves the challenge of negotiations!

Who is Farm Bureau Financial Services?

At Farm Bureau Financial Services, we make insurance simple so our client/members can feel confident knowing their family, home, cars and other property are protected. We value a culture where integrity, teamwork, passion, service, leadership and accountability are at the heart of every decision we make and every action we take. We're proud of our more than 75-year commitment to protecting the livelihoods and futures of our client/members and creating an atmosphere where our employee thrive.

What You'll Do:

As a Subrogation Specialist, you will have a meaningful impact on the company by recovering subrogation money in reference to casualty, med pay, PIP, property and workers' compensation claims. You will be responsible for analyzing case facts, conducting and coordinating the investigative process, determining the amount of recovery potential, then initiating the best method to optimize recovery.  Strong negotiation skills are essential in order to reach agreements with attorneys and adverse carriers. You will also prepare and file inter-company arbitrations and potentially serve as an arbitration panelist when eligible. You will have frequent contact with insureds, as you keep them advised of the current status of the recovery process.

What does it take to join our team?

You must have a college degree or equivalent, plus three years of relevant experience. Industry designations, such as AIC, SCLA or CSRP, are beneficial. You must have a desire to continue with industry designations, and to keep current with existing and pending claims precedents and legislation. You must have the ability to make decisions and exercise independent judgment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and you must enjoy the challenge of negotiations and arbitration.

What We Offer You:

When you're on our team, you get more than a great paycheck.  You'll hear about career development and educational opportunities, an enhanced 401K with a match, low cost health, dental, and vision benefits, life and disability insurance options, and paid time off, including holidays and volunteer time. Add to that an onsite wellness facility with fitness classes and programs, a daycare center, a cafeteria, and even an onsite medical clinic.  If your values align with ours, we invite you to join Farm Bureau Financial Services…where the grass really IS greener!

Work Authorization/Sponsorship
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are not able to sponsor now or in the future, or take over sponsorship of, an employment visa or work authorization for this role. For example, we are not able to sponsor OPT status.
