Position Overview

Subcom operates multiple subsea vehicles globally for subsea telecom cable installation and repair. The Submersibles Support Technician will be responsible for the administrative, technical, and logistical support of SubCom's ROV and Sea Plow fleet. Additionally, the position will manage equipment storage and workshop areas of the Baltimore, MD, fleet operations center.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with subsea equipment manufacturers, vendors, and offshore personnel to provide technical and material support to the submersibles fleet.
  • Review purchase requisitions, organize quotes, and raise purchase requests.
  • Ensure that vendors meet their estimated delivery dates.
  • Research alternative low-cost suppliers for goods and services.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and failure reports.
  • Provide logistical support, including packing, shipping, and receiving of submersible equipment and parts.
  • Manage the equipment stock and purchasing database.
  • Responsible for the inventory and management of fleet parts and spares.
  • Assist with mobilization and demobilization of submersible systems.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand tools.
  • Responsible for maintaining and organizing submersible depot and workshop areas.
Qualifications
  • Possess relevant technical certification or 2-year degree or have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in an applicable technical trade.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
  • Organized and self-motivated with an ability to adapt to frequent plan changes.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude are a strict requirement.
