The Study Technician is part of a division that supports preclinical work- in vivo toxicology, PK, metabolism, and safety studies as part of the drug development process. Job Responsibilities:

Conduct of animal studies including dosing of both large and small animal species (mice, rats, rabbits, dogs and non-human primates via various routes including but not limited to iv, po, dermal, subq and inhalation) and sample collections (blood, urine, etc.).

Maintain clear and timely observations and health monitoring on all study animals. Record accurately and timely study-related data in computer databases.

Complete work in a timely fashion and according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety directives and follow written and verbal instructions related to the scope of the job.

Education/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Life Sciences including Biology, Animal Science or Veterinary Sciences. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education.

AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level is preferred, but not required.

Work Requirements:

The employee must be able to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis

Dependability & reliability are essential

Experience:

Previous animal research or veterinary care experience preferred

Extensive job related training provided
