ROLE TITLE: Student Leadership Coordinator

POSITION REPORTS TO: Associate Dean of Students for Community Standards and Wellness

Summary of Position

This position will be responsible for the oversight, implementation, facilitation and student leadership mentoring, training, and programming to support campus-wide initiatives for students with a focus on creating a vibrant and inclusive community. This position will be primarily responsible for operational performance, advisement, and development, focused on Fraternity and Sorority Life, the student-run coffee shop, Grounds for Change, and Panhellenic counsel. Will collaborate with campus partners to implement student leadership programming, will work closely with other Student Life Coordinators to provide front-line support to students and develop strong relationships campus wide. This position will also serve as a member of the on call first response team and will live on campus.

As Conduct/Operations Coordinator, you will:

  • Responsible for the advisement, leadership, development and general administration for all Greek-letter organizations, including the oversight of 10 national NPC, IFC & NPHC organizations and advising the Inter-Fraternity Council & College Panhellenic Council
  • Provide overall directives to Fraternity and Sorority social organizations, including recruitment, club leadership, and compliance with national standards. Serve as the primary professional contact with students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding Fraternity and Sorority social club issues.
  • Advisement shall include mentoring and guiding student leaders on their activities, positions, membership recruitment activities, risk management, hazing education, membership education, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Oversee and assist with planning and implementation of informal and formal recruitment, new member education, judicial board, competitions, philanthropic events, service events, for the Fraternity & Sorority Life community
  • Collaborate with fraternity and sorority leadership & Residence Life to assist with the oversight of all FSL housing
  • Closely collaborate with Student Affairs professionals on student leadership, risk management, student conduct and restorative conflict resolution
  • Adviser for Grounds for Change, the student run coffee shop, in their efforts to run the coffee shop and host events/programs for the wider campus audience. Providing operational excellence in the collective process, improvements and productivity of the shop.
  • Oversee student leadership program development including various leadership seminars, the Greek Leadership Conference, and the Leadership Awards
  • Support annual campus events such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Weekend, Blue & Gold Weekend, and other events that involve student organizations and clubs.
  • Member of the on-call crisis support staff

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and or Master's Degree preferred but will consider proven track record of relative experience (2+ years) in Higher Education with a background in student affairs or other related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to blend the academic and co-curricular components of student life in a residential liberal arts college setting is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and complete projects with minimal direction and oversight;
  • Demonstrates basic multi-cultural and inclusion skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitation/presentation
  • Strategic thinking with operational excellence
  • Exceptional ability to influence and build strong relationships
  • On campus housing provided
  • Member of the on-call crisis support team

YOUR COMPENSATION

New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

The expected salary for this position is $35,586 annually.
