Job Summary:

Development of engineering stress and substantiationdata within budget in accordance with FAA, customer and HAECO Cabin Solutionsstandards of quality.

Essential Job Duties:

1.Beproficient with HAECO Cabin Solutions' internal policies and procedures.

2.Haveproficient knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's), AirworthinessDirectives (AD's), Alternate Means of Compliance (AMOC) and related regulatoryrequirements and processes. Should be able to assist and mentor juniorengineers with understanding regulations and directives.

3.Haveproficient knowledge of aircraft design concepts and industry design standardsconsistent with HAECO Cabin Solutions' workload environment. Should be able toassist and mentor junior engineers with design concepts and industry designstandards.

4.Analyzestructural engineering data produced by other engineering groups to ensure itmeets the structural requirements for FAA certification. Should be able toassist and mentor junior engineers with analysis. Should be able to review andapprove analysis.

5.Checkstructural engineering data produced by other engineering groups to ensure itmeets the structural requirements for FAA certification. Should be able toassist and mentor junior engineers in checking process.

6.Generatestress analysis notes in a usable, traceable file that serves as a historicalsubstantiation record of the repair or modification. Should be able to assistand mentor junior engineers in note process.

7.Develope,when necessary, finite element models to aid in the development of design andcertification data. Should be able to assist and mentor junior engineers inmodeling and analysis.

8.Create,develop, and implement test procedures as required to obtain certifiableallowables data for use by HAECO Cabin Solutions. Should be able to assist andmentor junior engineers in the creation, development and implementation of testprocedures.

9. Have a proficientrelationship with HAECO Cabin Solutions' Structures DER's and UM's to assurethat structures and interior related FAR's are addressed.

10.Independentlycreate and develop structural engineering substantiation reports that will beused to certify repair and modification data. Should be able to assist andmentor junior engineers writing substantiation reports.

11.Providetechnical support to HAECO Cabin Solutions Production during the manufacturingand installation phases of HAECO Cabin Solutions developed designs. Should beable to assist and mentor junior engineers in the provision of manufacturingand installation support.

12.Developsubject matter expertise on at least one area critical to substantiation.

13. Support otherEngineering groups as workload requirements dictate.

14. Should be able toorganize and execute scheduling and meetings.

15.Haveproficient knowledge of continuous improvement of various departmentprocedures, controls, flows and systems.

16.Mustbe able to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.

Secondary Duties:

Performother duties and special projects as assigned.

Accountabilities:

Accountableto the Substantiation Manager in all daily functions.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum

1.BSDegree in Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent combination ofexperience and coursework.

2.Six(6) years industry experience in engineering field, preferably dealing in thedesign of modifications to transport category aircraft.

3.Minimumthree (3) years experience utilizing Solidworks (or comparable CAD program)with demonstrable proficiency.

4.Mustpossess knowledge of FAA regulations, certification processes and relatedrequirements.

5.Mustpossess comprehensive knowledge of standard aircraft components, materials,fabrication practices, aviation hardware and proper application in design.

6.Mustpossess knowledge of engineering principles used in stress analysis,3D-computer modeling, and other analytical substantiation techniques.

7.Musthave knowledge of PC-based or workstation-based analysis software systems.Experience with 1 or more FEM software systems preferred.

8.Musthave extensive knowledge of the use and application of aircraft technical datasuch as engineering drawings, SRM's, MM's, SB's, IPC's, WD's, etc.

9.Mustpossess good oral, written, and organizational skills, and be able to read,write, speak and understand the English language.

Preferred

10.Master'sDegree in Engineering

Physical Requirements:

1.Mustbe able to sit and work efficiently at video display terminals for extendedperiods of time.

2.Mustpossess the ability to maneuver around airplanes (i.e. climbing stairs, on workstands, man lifts, etc.) and in confined areas (i.e. cargo compartments, fueltanks, E/E bays, etc.).

3.Mustbe able to lift and carry 15 lbs.
