Overview

The Sterile Processing Systems Coordinator is responsible for providing support and guidance to the SPD Team. In this role, the Systems Coordinator will work to train new hires in the SPD department. The Coordinator will also be responsible for effective communications with the SPD team and updating policies and procedures on an on-going basis. The Coordinator will help to ensure that Sterile Processing staff are providing sterile instruments through appropriate use of the tracking system. In addition, the Coordinator will manage and maintain the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department. The Coordinator may provide suggestions related to new instruments and will work with the OR Manager to develop department goals related to the system. Lastly, the coordinator will assist with inventory management, and should understand the inventory management process. The Sterile Processing Systems coordinator will maintain and update the instrument database with any needed changes. The coordinator will also be responsible for laser etching and commissioning instruments into the tracking system database. Ability to fill in as a sterile processing technician when needed. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Relevant Experience
Certification and Licensure
  • IAHSCMM Cert or CBSPD Cert within 6 months of hire
