Job Summary
The Ahituv lab seeks an entry-level Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) to support a laboratory that focuses on understanding the role of regulatory sequences in biology and disease. In this position, he/she will be an integral member of a research team that investigates gene regulatory elements and their relationship to human diversity and disease. The responsibilities include assisting lab members with the maintenance of mouse lines and molecular biology related experiments. This includes monitoring and breeding the mouse, genotyping and carrying out various molecular biology experiments to characterize them.

Required Qualifications
* BA/BS degree in biology or medical-related sciences or a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Laboratory research experience
* Practical knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques 
* Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Department Description
The Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences reports to both the School of Medicine (SOM) and the School of Pharmacy (SOP). Its faculty perform high-quality basic, translational and clinical research in the fields of drug development, pharmacogenomics, therapeutic engineering and computational biology.  This research encompasses traditional research in wet labs, computational and systems analyses and engineering and micro-fabrication development which lead to translational advances, clinical trials and community engagement. The department educates PharmDs, MDs, Masters' in Translational Medicine and PhDs in bioengineering and therapeutic sciences.
