Staff Nurse position General Medicine inpatient unit. The patients on this unit represent a diverse adult population with a wide range of complex medical problems including cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, neurological, psychosocial and infectious disease. The nursing skills developed on this unit are endless; physical and psychosocial assessment, telemetry, complex dressing changes, peritoneal dialysis,etc. Collaboration with other health care professionals across disciplines is fundamental to nursing practice on White 8. Responsibilities include assuring competent, compassionate nursing care for specific patients and families. The Staff Nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of a designated group of patients.
The staff nurse is a licensed registered nurse who is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate, individualized, nursing care for specific patients and families, including delegation to and supervision of non-professional clinical and support staff. She/he collaborates with the Nursing Director and members of the Patient Care Team to achieve optimal Patient outcomes. She/he also collaborates with the patient toward meeting the needs and expectations of the patient and family. Staff nurses ensure that care is safe, efficient, effective, timely and meets the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient and family.
Qualifications
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Must have a BSN degree
1-2+ years of experience
