The Staff Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for defining, specifying, developing, and qualifying new semiconductor processing equipment and operations. You will set the tone for a collaborative environment that values equity of voice, inclusive behaviors and trusting teams.

This position is part of the Biochip R&D Team and will be located in Sunnyvale California with close collaboration to the Newark California site. Intellectual honesty and agility, with the ability to pivot based on shifting priorities and balance multiple projects seamlessly in a fast-paced environment, are key.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design a production line with immediate responsibility for generating user requirements and specifications for semiconductor tools and equipment while considering both part and equipment design.
  • Own, deploy and implement pFMEA, Failure Investigations, Continuous Improvement, 5S concepts paired with Standard Work to drive LEAN manufacturing practices.
  • Design-in quality into the processes while maximizing yield, capacity, and capability.
  • Providing status updates and data-driven analysis to the organization and leadership team.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields
  • Five to seven years of experience in the semiconductor industry (process engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, etc.).
  • Generation and/or deep understanding of BOM, manufacturability analysis, process design, process validation, assembly methods, design reviews, cost reduction and yield improvement methodologies.
  • Successful execution of IQ/OQ/PQ qualification steps.
  • Experience with ergonomic process design, part variation control, and human factors effects on product.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Relevant and timely data collection and data analysis in high-volume automated manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of controls including PLCs.
