Responsibilities:


  • Maintain the equipment inventory. This will include troubleshooting equipment and completing minor repairs (such as replacing wires, building monitor boxes, working with suppliers for replacement parts, ordering additional monitors, etc.)

  • Set up and maintain monitoring equipment in the field and communicate with the construction team as scope of work dictates.

  • Complete vibration monitoring and other structural monitoring technical reports.



  • Ability to coordinate efforts with others to complete the work tasks related to vibration monitoring as the project scope and workload dictates.

  • Ability and desire to learn how to develop Vibration Control Plans under the direction of a licensed professional engineer.

  • Ability and desire to learn to prepare cost estimates for proposal for new work related to structural monitoring.

  • Ability and desire to learn how to complete Pre- and Post-Construction Condition Surveys and damage claim investigations.

  • Perform analyses and calculations as needed and required for the job to be reviewed by a licensed engineer



  • Assist in performing a non-destructive testing and investigations

  • Assist in the analysis of Building component failures

  • Assist in performing Condition Assessments on a variety of Building types and components

  • Communicate directly with clients about schedule, maintenance, and monitoring results in a clear and effective manner.

  • Communicate directly with the general public about monitoring techniques in a clear and easy to understand manner.


Required Skills:


  • Good communication skills

  • An interest in vibration effects on structures and soils. An interest in forensic investigation.

  • Self-motivated and ability to problem solve

  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment



  • Available to work out of town if project dictates (Less than 10% of the time through the year)

  • Able to walk, stand, climb at job sites and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Ability to see and identify small defects in structures under poor lighting or at distance.


Preferred Experience:


  • Preferred previous mechanical or construction work experience



  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment

  • Self-motivated and ability to problem solve

  • Able to walk, stand, climb at job sites and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis

  • Desired a minimum 4 year technical degree related to engineering (Civil engineering, structural engineering.
