Position Description

Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager-Operations, provide financial and administrative support to the programs of The Home.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare weekly deposits at the main office on a timely basis (from operation & development). Ensure that checks are deposited timely using an electronic check scanning system.
  • Post cash receipts on a timely basis in accordance with internal deadlines. Communicate any issues and delays encountered to the Accounting Manager for prompt resolution.
  • Identify and resolve unapplied cash receipts
  • Generate Line of Credit Report of cash activity on daily basis that is distributed to upper management.
  • Reconcile assigned bank accounts on a monthly basis including client fund bank accounts. to bank statement and liability schedule.
  • Issue monthly client fund schedules to Programs. Communicate with Programs any questions about client accounts. Research and resolve any issues or variances on a timely basis.
  • Support the annual audit fieldwork including work paper preparation, audit task scheduling, and communication with internal and external resources to obtain audit information
  • Prepare reconciliations for monthly general ledger closing as assigned
  • Assist Accounts Payable with daily tasks when necessary
  • Attends workshops, training, seminars, etc. to remain current with accounting standards
  • Position is primarily remote. Weekly visits to the office are required for deposits and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and 2 to 3 years of accounting experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to research outstanding issues using both internal software and other internet applications.
  • Adaptable to new software packages and other web-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects in a remote environment and under the direction of the Accounting Manager for Operations.

Physical Requirements

Hybrid of Remote and Standard Office setting. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. May spend extended periods on the telephone, at the computer terminal or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
