We have a great opportunity as a Sr. Systems Engineer at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of DoD, AF and common engineering/scientific principles, criteria, and procedures to improve planned and existing AF and joint service weapon system programs throughout the full lifecycle. GENERAL FUNCTION:

• Apply knowledge of Engineering Management and IEEE Distributed Interactive Simulation and High-Level Architecture standards to assist in solving complex technical issues and support day to day operations.
• Support the acquisition, development and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment throughout the lifecycle process while assessing effectiveness, costs, risks, and scheduling trade-off studies.
• Perform Failure Analysis and provide economical solutions to improve System Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability.
• Develop and review the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements), including the translation of user requirements into system requirements
• Review, analyze, and evaluate change proposals, including regulatory and other policy driver changes or proposed modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility.
• Evaluate systems test plans and provide recommendations; and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing.
• Support program management and the engineering team with briefings and documentation such as System Requirements Documents, Systems Engineering Plans; Programmatic Environmental Safety and Health Evaluation; etc.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience and a Master's degree in engineering or a minimum of 20' years' experience and an ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications

Physical Skills and Abilities:

• May require lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
