The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst (SR. QA) is responsible for developing and executing formal test plans for the division's software applications. Participates in test planning, writing test cases, test automation and test execution. This position is located at our McDonnell facility in Hazelwood, Missouri, and we operate on a hybrid schedule of at least two (2) days in the office per week.

Typically focused on automating new functionality pre-release and maintenance post-release or driving efficient testing in other areas. The SR. QA delivers quality assurance results. The primary focus of the SR. QA is to design and execute quality assurance testing. SR. QA results aid the lines of business by ensuring process and controls are functioning properly and that data elements are flowing completely and accurately from input through to regulatory and management reporting.

In this role, the SR. QA focuses on the execution of a portfolio of quality assurance test scripts. The specialist will review credit actions and data elements for accuracy and adherence to policy/procedure. The SR. QA interacts and partners with associates in the business to educate, remediate findings, and improve quality. The SR. QA will also identify and recommends ways to improve the quality, capability, or efficiency of the testing process. This may include identifying gaps in the underlying process and/or controls. The SR. QA may also participate in various project work supporting continued improvement of the SR. QA process. This may include work to identify areas that require quality assurance testing, determining the appropriate function to own the testing, design of tests, and creative thinking in identifying solutions that consolidate and create efficiency in processes. The role requires collaboration with other team members to drive technology and process changes through identification of business requirements. The candidate must independently conduct assigned responsibilities within the context of the assigned programs. In addition, he or she will also be responsible for assisting their manager in addressing other key initiatives within the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Focuses on the creation, maintenance and execution of test scripts and other specialty testing activities in the areas of automation testing, performance testing, test environments or application specialties. Is considered a subject matter expert in one or more of these areas. Identifies and develops ways to improve the quality, capability, or efficiency of the testing process. Typically focused on automating new functionality pre-release and maintenance post-release, or driving efficient testing in other areas. Typically requires 5+ years of applicable experience. In this role, the SR. QA focuses on the execution of a portfolio of quality assurance test scripts. The SR. QA may review data elements for accuracy and adherence to policy/procedure. The SR. QA will also identify and recommends ways to improve the quality, capability, or efficiency of the testing process. This may include identifying gaps in the underlying process and/or controls. The role requires collaboration with the business to drive technology and process changes through identification of business requirements.

What Do You Need for this Position?

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent working experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on implementation and execution experience in quality assurance processes.
  • Creates and maintains testing scripts.
  • Creates a process for automating the testing function.
  • Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, or other automation tools
  • Identifies and develops documentation that proves the quality of an issue(s) under review.
  • The documentation includes but is not limited to test plans, test strategies, test cases, test automation and test execution.
  • Works closely with developers to accurately define all issues and determine a feasible resolution.
  • Performs load testing of applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio.
  • Ability to write SQL queries used for testing data changes.
  • Experience testing API's with Postman or similar tools
  • Able to write functional test flows that can be run in a CI/CD environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of programming methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of application life cycle.
  • Proven experience working with SR. QA methodologies.
  • Ability to quickly understand and gain domain expertise in highly complex existing application and architectures.
  • Ability to work independently and create plans that align with the division goals.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
