Our client is seeking a Sr Platform Engineer in Celebration, FL/ Hybrid.

Role Description

• Vendor Based Software support experience
• Engage as technical point of contact with vendors, peers, and infrastructure operations partners.
• A basic understanding of security best practices and experience implementing them - engaging the vendor as needed
• Provide support for multiple levels of testing prior to upgrades or releases of new infrastructure, software, and service layer components.
• Perform daily activities to ensure availability and stability
• Participate in evaluating, developing, and implementing tools and automation to facilitate platform maintenance and administration to ensure operational efficiency, and reliability.
• Potential 24/7 on call support per the established policies and procedures including the Incident, Problem and Change Management Processes
• Participate in planning and executing projects for business unit initiatives and updating existing infrastructure, roadmaps, products and/or services.
• Proactively ensure compliance with Security standards
• Create and maintain required system documentation
• 24x7 on call support - this is minimal.. Maybe 1-2 calls/month. This person will be Primary but there is a secondary to back them up

Skills & Requirements

• Senior position - 5+ years of troubleshooting experience - take a situation, identify what is happening, resolve, etc
• Experience writing queries (SQL) to access and manipulate the database - MS SQL and Oracle, not a DBA but someone that knows their way around a database.
• Knowing their way around WindowsOS - not a server engineer but being able to talk to a vendor to then relay to the server team.
• Networking - knowing how data flows, firewalls, but not a network engineer, good understanding enough to relay to network team.
• Great communication skills - you will work very closely with all the vendors and business and really be able to explain and understand and gain knowledge on what the business is really looking for. Will need to get a grasp on each application being used, steep learning curve. Strong tech background to better learn and understand the applications and how they are used.
• Cloud-hosted services like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud - Cloud experience - in the process of moving one app to the cloud, however cloud instance is gonna run as an EC2 instance (cloud infra doesn't pertain here, but AWS. Not taking advantage of any cloud services).
• IT Service management tools (ServiceNow)
• CICD Deployment
• Industry Based Experience
• Cruise Operations experience or Medical Systems / Risk Management or Logistics Management or Marine Maintenance / Operations Experience.
