Role description:

The Sr. Electronic Technician builds/rebuilds, modify, repair, overhaul, test, and install electrical equipment, start-up and troubleshoot IS machines, and installation of electronic and electrical equipment and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Provide electronic support and programming of systems on Individual Section (IS) Machine systems.
  

• Install, hook up, and start up electronic systems during machine installation in the field.
  
• Create technical documentation.
  
• Troubleshoot problems in plants by phone and/or may require an onsite visit to support the customer.
  
• Test new concepts and equipment.
  
• Draft prints, documentation, and Bill of Material (BOM) for projects.
  

• Monitor the MRP system to develop project work orders.
  
• Maintain and troubleshoot electronic controls and systems in the plant Machine shop and Machine assembly.
  

Minimum skills/qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience of five (5) years in a related field of electronics
  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  
• Must be able to create electrical documents, such as layouts, schematics, etc.
  
• Must be proficient with AutoCAD programs
  
• Have an understanding of electrical codes and standards
  
• Knowledge of UL certification and ability to attend relevant continuing education opportunities
  

• Must be able to travel 50% or more
  
• Must have the ability to analyze complex problems, determine root causes and establish corrective action plans.
  
• Must be able to develop a good working relationship with department members, and management groups in the plants.
  
• Needs to have strong written and communication skills
  

Preferred skills/qualifications:

• Familiar with Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC
  
• Knowledge of RS422/232 communications protocols
  
• Knowledge of AB RS View, ControlLogix; Siemens Scout
  
• Familiarity with IS machine controls
  
• Experience working within SAP
