How you can make a bigger difference:

The Senior Direct Support Professional will perform all duties performed with the title Direct Support Professional. Work with children or adolescents in a residential treatment setting and is responsible for ensuring that those portions of the treatment plan which deals with day to day and independent living skills are implemented. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Team Leader in the orientation of new Direct Support Professionals.
  • Lead at least one weekly community meeting.
  • Act as liaison between milieu staff and the Administrator on Duty regarding treatment planning and implementation.
  • Represent Team Leader at meetings, when designated.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of the Apartment routine and structure when the Team Leader or Direct Support Professional Supervisor is not present in the facility. [Please note: The Sr. Direct Support Professional will display leadership skills in this area; not provide direct supervision]
  • Responsible for day by day care of the children in the program including supervision of personal hygiene, social guidance, use of leisure time, and food planning and preparation.
  • Develop, supervise and run activity sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:
  • High School Diploma is required
  • A current, valid and clean Driver's license is required for this position
  • Minimum work experience of two years' regular in house experience working within a residential treatment program
