Based in San Carlos and founded in 2014, we are a well-funded biotechnology start-up ($60MM Series C in 2021, $120MM total funding). Our fully automated platform harnesses the power of NGS to simplify complex diagnostics for clinical and applied markets. Our platform accelerates outcomes and improves accuracy, combining cloud-based analytics, robotics, and DNA sequencing.

What You Will Be Doing As the DevOps Engineer reporting to the DevOps Lead/Manager, you will support the engineering team in building out and maintaining the operational platform. Our platform is cloud/on-prem hybrid, so cloud experience is critical, and experience with on-prem devices is ideal. In this hands-on position, you'll have the opportunity to help build and support a NextGen DNA processing and analytics platform. Our platform will need to support advanced predictive and machine learning algorithms in the long term.
Requirements
- Take ownership of integration and deployment management from automation and process perspectives
- Manage the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure through IaC tooling with security, stability, and SLA as core tenants
- Set up and utilize monitoring, usage tracking, and logging systems
- Aid in timely resolution of issues and customer requests
- End-to-End maintenance of CI/CD environment
- Python/Node programming
- Networking, Security duties
What You Need for this Position Qualifications:
- BS Degree
- 3+ years of DevOps Engineering
- Cloud SaaS environment - GCP or AWS
- IaC - Terraform/Kubernetes
- Jenkins, Chef, Puppet
- CI/CD
- Start-up/fast-paced environment
- Python and/or Node.js programming or similar (not just scripting)
- Linux /UNIX

Nice to have:
- Networking experience - All layers: TCP/IP, DNS, SDWAN/VPN
- Security exposure/experience - AppSec (SSL, Vulnerabilities, Authentication), NetSec (Perimeter Defense, WAF/Web Application Firewall, Ingress)
- Experience in development environments that include Java, JavaScript (React/Node), MySQL/Postgres/NoSQL
- Scripting and Web/Server Analytics
- MS Degree
- Caching layers, memory tuning, A/B testing, Data pipelines/analytical systems
- LIMS or similar
- Genomics/Bioinformatics
