Position Overview:
This position collaborates with engineering and development teams to evaluate, identify and implement optimal cloud solutions that align with the organization's hybrid cloud strategy. Is responsible for the installation, maintenance, security and administration of cloud and on-premise platforms in accordance with industry and organizational best practices. Provides support, mentorship and training to Business Technology team members and serves as a resource for less experienced team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Recommends and implements technology solutions, cloud platforms and application service offerings to optimize performance, ensure systems availability, mitigates security risks, and provides enhancements to operational processes.
  • Manages mid- complex projects and initiatives at a high level within the Technical Operations team.
  • Partners with the enterprise security team to proactively secure business technology assets and responds to security incidents.
  • Proactively maintains and upgrades system infrastructure, servers and other business technology systems and software as part of lifecycle process.
  • Implements approved RFC's (Request for Change) and collaborates with other BT team members on deployment activities with the objective of reducing downtime, increasing performance, and optimizing business functions.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with multi-platform enterprise environments deploying resources and complete application solutions on Microsoft Azure in an enterprise setting.
  • Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • Expert experience in migrating existing on-prem servers and applications to a cloud environment
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA)
  • Advanced experience with cloud-based policy management, security analysis, disaster recovery design and cost optimization
  • Expert knowledge with scripting languages such as Powershell, ARM, Bicep, Python as well as a familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code platforms such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef and Puppet
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft technologies (including Windows Server operating system, Active Directory, SQL Server, SCCM and Microsoft 365).
  • Expert knowledge with system hardware architectures such as Storage Area Networks, Hyperconverged Infrastructure and unified computing environments.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies as well as Unified Communications systems.
  • Strong organizational, decision making, and written/verbal communication skills. Presentation skills for one-on-one and/or group presentations.
  • Ability to translate highly technical information into non-technical terms.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation of complex systems.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Collaborating with other teams using Azure DevOps best practices for CI/CD workflows, preferred.
  • Consulting and/or technical pre-sales experience working with various organizations to understand their business needs, identify technology options and/or deliver solutions in a high quality and professional manner, preferred.
  • Exposure to AWS platform, preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud-native applications using microservices, containers and/or Kubernetes, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
