General Summary/ Overview:

The Global Patient Services Program Business Planning Sr Analyst reports to the Finance Manager, Global Patient Services. Serving hospital needs, they are a part of a team dedicated to the analysis, optimization, support, and process improvements for Global Patient Services and directly related to operations and revenue cycle systems utilized by MGB. They will work closely with the leadership team to support initiatives across the department. This individual will be responsible for data analysis and regular reporting from Epic, SalesForce, EPSi and other internal systems. They will provide training to new team members on these systems and assist as needed with other projects, including hospital observerships.

They will serve as a liaison between the business owners and internal resources to aid in the identification and development of appropriate solutions to complex business challenges while seeking alignment within Mass General Brigham integration.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Analytical Responsibilities 35% Organizes qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial and administrative data from multiple sources (e.g. EPSi, iPort, SalesForce) synthesizing results into meaningful reports, and creating dashboards to measure and enhance operations. Responsible for quality assurance of data, quality control of outputs, and adherence to MGB compliance standards. Responsibilities will include design and maintenance of required databases. This individual will become an expert on the relationship between the epic patient record and how it flows our data resources and influences our analytic outputs.

Business Planning 10% Plans, implements and evaluates projects designed to enhance department/service effectiveness. This could involve staffing models, business and pricing models, clinical process flow models. Prepares and analyzes data for business development efforts, such as market assessments, opportunity analysis, service line priorization and ROI modeling.

Expense Management 5% Identifies and recommends fiscal, material and human resource requirements for specific projects/programs. This is accomplished through statistical analysis, interpretation of data, identification of trends, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Reporting 25% Prepares monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc volume, demand, and financial reports describing project and department wide financial performance and metrics. Outputs will include data tables as well as data visualizations.

Presentation 10% Presents clear and concise conclusions in charts, graphs, spreadsheets, reports or presentations so that leadership and all staff can easily understand the information. Will be expected to travel on site with team and must have the ability to answer questions regarding data definitions, methodology and bridging analytics to operations.

Strategic Projects 15% The Business Planing Anlayst 2 will be integrally involved in the development of the infrastructure needed to run and operate the hospital-based and system-wide Global Patient Services functions. The position will be involved in formulating departmental plans related to Business Development, Operations Management, Back Office Functions, Mass General/Physicians Organization wide initiatives.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree required

3-5 years of financial reporting and/or data analytics with some project management experience

Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Tableau, Alteryx, Salesforce and MGB/MGB financial and reporting systems, including Hyperion, Insight, Epsi, iPort, and Peoplesoft

A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements

Responsible for assisting in the development of departmental contracts, pricing strategies, and recommending suggestions for financial performance improvement where applicable.
