Arhaus is an exciting and energetic company in need of an individual with skills to support the company’s demanding data needs. The SQL Server DBA/Data Analyst will need to have strong experience in supporting the company’s SQL server infrastructure, reporting, business intelligence, integrations, SQL maintenance and backups, tuning, etc. Projects will vary greatly, ranging from new technology initiatives to legacy maintenance. Our business is very data-hungry with a heavy emphasis placed on accurate, timely data retrieval and is in need of a SQL expert who can be a combination DBA and SQL developer. This individual must be a task-oriented self-starter, with a strong aptitude for learning new concepts and the ability to jump into projects quickly. Will have to juggle many projects simultaneously and be able to swiftly adapt to priority changes at a moment’s notice.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 3 years experience as a SQL DBA, working with versions 2014+, with demonstratable experience in database creation, configuration, query, and index tuning, database backup/restore, permissions, performance and error troubleshooting, job and schedule setup and monitoring.
  • At least 1-year of experience working with the SSISDB catalog – deploy, monitor, environment and variable setup, variable-to-project mapping.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing and tuning complex TSQL queries for reporting and/or analytics consumption.
  • Experience in turning business requirements into accurate, efficient data sets.
  • Experience with SQL Server business intelligence products, including Reporting Services (SSRS), Analysis Services (SSAS), and Integration Services (SSIS) would be a plus.
  • A strong desire to add to current knowledge in new and emerging data storage and analytics technologies.

The candidate will be expected to:
  • Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and technology partners.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate with other employees in all departments and levels of management.
  • Own availability, recoverability, security, and performance of our production SQL Server instances.
  • Become intimately familiar with the entire Arhaus data landscape; understanding the business meaning of all repo’s, entities, and attributes.
  • Be the first responder to any business-critical issues relating to production SQL Server instances, hosted databases.
  • Aggressively pursue subject-matter-expert status in Arhaus business data storage services, and assist the initiative to move the company to the next level in analytics services.
  • Work on project teams to solve business problems with technological solutions.
  • Demonstrate perpetual learning and improvement.
